Master Storytelling: Creative Writing & Global Culture is a 14-day summer school for ages 13-18 that focuses on fiction, narrative essay, and the craft of writing across cultural boundaries. Students work on voice, structure, character, dialogue, and scene construction, while also exploring how writers use form and perspective to shape a reader’s experience.
The programme combines craft seminars, workshops, close reading, and guided feedback from tutors and guest writers. Students draft and revise original work, take part in workshop critique from day one, and complete a short portfolio that includes revised pieces and a writer’s statement.
The course also introduces world literature and the professional life of a writer, connecting creative writing to broader global perspectives. Teaching takes place across two cities and includes morning seminars, afternoon writing workshops, and evening activities such as author talks, bookshop and library visits, and literary walking tours.
The programme is designed to be rigorous but supportive, with limited spaces and no prior formal writing training required.
