Quintus Scholars’ Philosophy, Politics & Law for Future Leaders is a two-week academic summer programme for students aged 13 to 18. It is designed around political philosophy, legal reasoning and the intellectual foundations of power, with an emphasis on constructing, testing and defending arguments rather than simply learning facts.
No prior study of philosophy, politics or law is required.
Students spend the programme in seminars, argument workshops and evening sessions that build towards a substantial written research project. Week 1 focuses on political philosophy, ethics, democracy, rights and global governance, while Week 2 moves into the nature of law, constitutional and criminal law, human rights, justice and leadership.
The course also includes a formal moot court exercise and a policy brief, with tutor feedback on reasoning, evidence and clarity.
The programme is delivered across two cities and combines academic study with city-based experiences, guest speakers and cohort activities. Students complete assessed work across the fortnight and can receive a regulated award from a UK government regulated awarding body, giving the course a recognised academic outcome for university applications.
