Help clean birds in the morning, feed them and support flying displays while getting involved in the centre’s day-to-day work. Work experience placements are also available for school, college and vet students.

The Raptor Foundation offers volunteering opportunities for people who want to help care for birds of prey and support the day-to-day running of the centre. Volunteers can get involved in a wide range of practical tasks, including cleaning birds in the morning, helping with flying displays, feeding the birds, working in the gift shop, and assisting around the site.

The role is hands-on and suited to people who are prepared to work hard and get closely involved with the animals and the centre’s activities.

The organisation says volunteers are welcome to help with all aspects of the site’s daily work, and it also welcomes people with relevant skills who may be able to contribute in other ways. This makes it a good option for anyone interested in conservation, animal care, and working with birds of prey in a real working environment.

The foundation also arranges work experience placements for local school students, as well as college students on animal welfare and animal management courses. Vet students can also apply for placements to gain insight into birds of prey.

Applicants are asked to contact the centre directly, or through their school, and a downloadable application form is provided.
