Support an MP’s office by researching local issues, drafting press releases and helping with constituent casework. You could also accompany the MP to meetings or events in the House or constituency.

Rebecca Paul offers work experience placements for students from the constituency who want to learn more about how an MP’s office operates. The placement is designed to give young people an insight into local politics and to help them build practical skills in a professional environment.

Students can support a range of office and constituency tasks, depending on their age and ability. These may include researching issues, taking press cuttings, drafting press releases, helping with casework, assisting with office duties, answering queries from constituents by phone or email, and accompanying the MP to meetings or events in the House or in the constituency.

Interested students should contact the office to enquire about a placement.
