Want to build a banking career while earning a degree? Join HSBC’s three-year Commercial Banking Degree Apprenticeship in Manchester to work client-facing from day one, gain a BSc (Hons), and develop credit, legal and relationship management skills.

This is a three-year Degree Apprenticeship within HSBC's Commercial Banking division based in Manchester. The programme combines on-the-job experience with academic study, leading to a BSc (Hons) in Applied Retail and Commercial Banking awarded via the University of Exeter.

From day one apprentices join dedicated teams working on client-facing tasks, supporting Relationship Managers and collaborating with specialist functions such as Legal, Credit and Risk.

The apprenticeship consists of four placements with increasing responsibility and client exposure. Early months focus on structured, expert-led training and settling into your first placement; later placements, subject to performance, may include promotion to more autonomous client-facing roles or team leadership responsibilities.

Apprentices will undertake tasks including preparing client presentations and reports, financial analysis, risk assessments, and supporting strategic reviews and pitches.

Entry to the programme requires meeting the published academic requirements and being available to start full time from October 2026. Candidates will be invited to complete an assessment as part of the selection process, and any equivalent qualifications will be verified with the training provider.
