Deliver Awareness to Action sessions in your local community, in person or online, using ready-made resources to help people understand sight loss. You could connect with community leaders, businesses and local groups - and get induction, training and a toolkit.

RNIB Community Change Champions help raise awareness and improve understanding of sight loss by delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions in their local community. The role is about encouraging people to make small changes in behaviour that can make a big difference to the daily lives of blind and partially sighted people.

Volunteers may speak directly with community leaders, businesses and local groups, inviting them to take part in a session. They can deliver sessions in person or online using RNIB’s resources, either on their own or alongside other local volunteers.

Where relevant, volunteers with a personal connection to sight loss may share their experience to help others understand the real impact of inclusive action.

The role offers first-hand experience of grassroots community engagement and charity outreach, alongside opportunities to build communication, networking and presentation skills. RNIB also provides induction, training, a toolkit, support from a volunteering manager, and opportunities to connect with other volunteers across the UK.
