Trace aircraft electrification from early developments to today’s systems and future concepts, with a lecture from an engineer leading advanced technology work on major aircraft programmes.
This Royal Aeronautical Society branch lecture explores aircraft electrification from its earlier developments through the technologies used today and the ideas shaping the future of aviation. It looks at the growing importance of electricity in aircraft systems and how the industry is responding to the challenge of reaching net zero by 2050.
The event is designed as a hybrid lecture, so participants can attend in person at GE Aerospace in Cheltenham or join online via Microsoft Teams. Registration is required in advance, and the in-person session includes venue access arrangements and ID requirements.
The lecture will be delivered by John Collins, who leads advanced technology engineering work at GE Aerospace and brings experience from a range of major aircraft programmes.
