Apply NowWant to visit campus but worried about travel costs? Apply for a Royal Agricultural University travel bursary to cover your travel and up to two guests, explore open days, taster events and summer schools, and make a confident decision about your undergraduate path.
This bursary helps prospective undergraduate students with the cost of travelling to Royal Agricultural University events at its main campus. It is designed for people who are considering undergraduate study and may need support to attend open days, offer holder days, summer schools or taster days.
Reimbursement can cover the applicant’s travel, as well as the travel costs of up to two additional guests. Eligible applicants must be UK residents and planning to study at undergraduate level on a BSc, BA or FdSc programme.
The bursary follows the university’s Access and Participation Plan and is aimed at students who meet at least one widening participation criterion, such as living in an IMD decile 1-4 postcode, being care experienced, coming from a non-White background, or having a parent or carer who serves or has served in the UK Armed Forces. Travel is reimbursed after the event has taken place.
Claims may include return travel by car, rail, coach, domestic flight, or short taxi journeys where necessary, provided the costs are reasonable and evidenced where required. To claim, applicants should contact the university’s outreach team for a claim form.
Reasonable travel costs may be reimbursed for the applicant and up to two additional guests when attending eligible RAU events, including open days, offer holder days, summer schools and taster days.
Free bursary support that reimburses reasonable travel costs after attendance at the RAU event.
