CLOSED THIS CYCLE

Kensington and Chelsea Libraries and Archives offer a flexible volunteering opportunity for people who want to support their local library service. Volunteers can help with routine tasks or specific projects, and there is scope to contribute ideas, share skills, or even lead creative workshops and community activities.

Roles mentioned include helping with library events, digital support, customer service, maintaining library spaces, and archive-related work. Volunteers may assist with homework clubs, reading groups, IT drop-ins, job search and CV help, shelving, creating book displays, and helping people use library services and self-service machines.

There are also opportunities to support events and outreach activities, including work with children, adults, and people learning English. The volunteering is open to all communities. The library service says there is no upper age limit, with general volunteering available from age 16, while some younger volunteers may be able to take part through school placements, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award volunteering, or the Summer Reading Challenge.

Interested applicants are asked to complete an expression of interest form and contact the team through their local library or by email.
