Hear Dharshini David OBE, BBC News’ Deputy Economics Editor, examine whether economics is broken as living standards and economic turbulence reshape the debate. Professor Imran Rasul chairs the session, which is streamed online as well as hosted at Kingston University London.

The Royal Economic Society Annual Public Lecture is a yearly public event hosted by Kingston University London, giving school students the chance to hear from leading economists and explore current thinking in the field. This year's lecture is titled "Is Economics Broken?

" and will be delivered by Dharshini David OBE, Deputy Economics Editor at BBC News, with Professor Imran Rasul chairing the session.

The lecture focuses on how economics responds to recent economic turbulence, questions around living standards, and the challenge of keeping the subject relevant in a fast-changing world. Students attending in person are from local schools and colleges, and the event is designed to introduce younger audiences to research, ideas and methodologies that may go beyond what they encounter in their textbooks.

The lecture will also be streamed online for those joining remotely.
