Hear ecologists and countryside rangers explain how they use geography in conservation work, linking KS3, GCSE and A Level topics to their day-to-day roles. Explore career pathways and put your questions directly to the panel.
This online webinar is designed for secondary school students and teachers who want to see how geography lessons connect to real jobs in ecosystems and conservation. It explores how ideas from KS3, GCSE and A Level geography are used in professional settings, with a focus on the conservation sector.
Students will hear from a panel of professionals, including people working in roles such as ecologist and countryside ranger, who will explain how they use geographical skills and knowledge in their day-to-day work. The session is intended to help students understand the variety of career pathways available and why geography can lead to rewarding work in conservation.
There will also be an opportunity for students to ask questions directly to the speakers about their careers. The webinar is run in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, and is hosted online through the Royal Geographical Society website.
