Hear ecologist Dr Deborah Brady assess whether lynx could return to a suitable habitat patch in northern England and southern Scotland, with a focus on Northumberland. She’ll unpack the ecological, social and practical questions, drawing on consultation that engaged thousands.

Dr Deborah Brady will explore The Missing Lynx Project and the feasibility of returning lynx to a suitable habitat patch in northern England and southern Scotland. The talk looks at the ecological, social and practical questions involved in a lynx reintroduction, with a particular focus on Northumberland.

The project has already coordinated a major consultation on species reintroduction, engaging thousands of people across the identified habitat region and showing broad regional support for lynx recovery. Dr Brady, an ecologist specialising in mammals and species reintroductions, will draw on this work to discuss what it could take to restore lynx to the English landscape.
