Support patients with their evening meal on a hospital ward, taking part in hands-on activities alongside staff. Volunteer one evening each week for six months in the hospital environment.
Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust’s student volunteer scheme gives young people the chance to experience the hospital environment, work alongside staff and support patients. Volunteers are placed on a ward and take part in hands-on activities with patients, with the focus on supporting the patients’ evening meal and helping in a practical way.
The scheme is aimed at students aged 16 and over who are considering a health-related career. It starts in the autumn and runs for six months, with volunteers expected to come in one evening each week.
Interested students can contact the Voluntary Services team for more information about the opportunities currently available.
