Need support to study vet science? The RVC Humanitarian Scholarship gives one eligible student £3,000 a year to study any RVC undergraduate course. Apply, discuss your circumstances with Admissions and secure funding to build your career in veterinary science.

The RVC Humanitarian Scholarship provides financial support to students who have been granted refugee or humanitarian protection status in the UK and who have received an offer to study on any Royal Veterinary College undergraduate course. The scholarship awards £3,000 per year for each year of the course (excluding retake years).

Only one scholarship is awarded per academic year.

Applicants will be asked to discuss their individual circumstances with the Admissions team; successful applicants must meet the RVC's basic eligibility criteria, including UK immigration status recognising refugee or humanitarian protection, no prior higher education degree study in the UK/EU, an offer of admission from RVC, evidence of commitment to their chosen course, and a minimum IELTS score of level 7.

Education & Training
Duration: For the duration of the undergraduate course (except retake years)

Location

  • Located in the UK with a UK immigration status which recognises that they are a refugee or have been granted humanitarian protection and unable to access or complete higher education
  • No previous study for a higher education degree in the UK or EU (this does not include periods of time in the UK or EU for study abroad, Erasmus, work or clinical placements)
  • Received an offer of admission for entry from the RVC
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and commitment to, their chosen course
  • Achieve a minimum level 7 in their IELTS assessment

Pay & Benefits

The undergraduate scholarship is £3,000 per year for the duration of the course (except retake years) and is applicable to any UG course. One scholarship is available per academic year.
