Take on practical engineering challenges in a real aerospace setting, exploring actuation systems, manufacturing, materials and mechanical engineering. Meet Safran employees to hear about their roles and career journeys, and see how engineering ideas become practical products.

Safran’s Wolverhampton work experience programme gives students the chance to explore engineering in a real aerospace setting. Participants will see how engineering ideas are developed into practical products, with a focus on actuation systems, aerospace manufacturing and the kinds of technical challenges faced in industry.

During the placement, students take part in practical challenges and learn about systems, performance, materials and mechanical engineering. They also meet experienced Safran employees who can share insights into their roles, career journeys and the wider world of aerospace.

The programme is designed to be hands-on, engaging and suitable for students who enjoy problem-solving and understanding how things work.

This experience is particularly suited to young people considering future pathways in engineering, manufacturing or STEM. It is a useful opportunity to build confidence, improve teamwork and communication skills, and gain first-hand exposure to a global aerospace organisation while thinking about future education or apprenticeship choices.
