Scania Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship with TruckEast Limited based at Brackmills Industrial Estate, Northampton (NN4 7BQ). This is the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician standard apprenticeship combining on-the-job training with specialist periods at Scania’s training academy.

The programme is mentored by qualified Scania HGV technicians and is designed to develop mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical skills required for servicing and repairing heavy vehicles. The apprenticeship start date is Monday 6 July 2026 and the advertised duration is 2 years 8 months.

You will work primarily in the employer’s workshop environment and gain practical experience across chassis, engines, transmissions, braking systems and electrics. Training is delivered by REMIT GROUP LIMITED and includes 16 weeks (Mon-Fri) at the Scania training academy spread over the 32-month programme.

On completion you will achieve the IMI Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician qualification and IRTEC accreditation. The employer pays travel expenses and hotel accommodation for academy weeks.

The role is full time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday) with an annual starting wage of £16,640 (salary band dependent on age). Essential entry requirements are GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade 4/C.

Pay & Benefits

£16,640 a year. Salary ranges between £16,640 - £22,568 dependent on age and is reviewed yearly. Apprentice benefits include 30 days holiday (rising to 34), fully-funded training, tablet and toolbox provided, private medical insurance, enhanced employer pension contributions, Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, and non-contributory savings scheme.
