Explore exile, memory and belonging in an interactive creative writing workshop led by poets Jennifer Langer and Leo Boix. The session invites participants to engage with shared poetry and personal stories, using writing as a way to reflect on displacement, loss and identity.
Drawing on the Psalms of exile and the Japanese art of kintsugi, the workshop considers how broken experiences can be revisited, repaired and transformed through language. Participants will work collaboratively to create a shared poem, bringing together different voices, emotions and perspectives in conversation.
The workshop also includes the poets’ ‘boxes of exile’, objects that hold personal significance and open up discussion about memory and the things we carry with us. Participants are encouraged to bring a few simple items from their own past that engage the senses and can help spark reflection and writing.
