Hear an immersive artist, ecosystem scientist and economist connect art, data and economics to explore how humanity can flourish within the limits of a living planet. This free, 90-minute in-person talk takes place in Oxford; booking is required.

Explore our place within a living Earth through art, science and economics in this cross-disciplinary talk. The event looks at the biosphere as the only living world we know, and asks what it means for humanity to live within it rather than apart from it.

It is designed for a general audience aged 14 and over, and offers a thought-provoking introduction to how the living planet shapes human life.

The talk brings together Barney Steel of Marshmallow Laser Feast, Professor Yadvinder Malhi, and author Kate Raworth. They each approach the theme from a different angle: immersive art and data, ecosystem science, and economics.

Together, they consider how we might rethink our relationship with the natural world, and how humans can flourish within the limits of a living planet.

This is a one-off in-person event at the Schwarzman Centre in Oxford. It lasts 90 minutes, is free to attend, and booking is required.
