SCI Austria is advertising an international volunteer camp ("Shooting Stars") run with SCI Catalonia in Ametlla del Vallès, Spain. The project runs from 7 to 13 September 2026 and brings volunteers together to exchange, learn and work with the local community on themes of ecological crisis, climate justice, responsible consumption and sustainable lifestyles.
Activities will include talks, debates, participatory workshops and visits to local initiatives. Volunteers will help create and equip a wooden, telescope-equipped educational booth to improve accessibility to astronomy, decorate and prepare an educational space, and carry out research projects on visible constellations, stars and celestial bodies.
Accommodation is provided in the volunteer house (kitchen, mixed bathrooms, indoor/outdoor recreation and camping space). English is the working language of the camp. To apply or ask questions contact placement@sciaustria.
