Curious how science can shape a greener future? Join Earlscliffe’s two-week summer school to build prototypes, run fieldwork and tackle real energy and climate challenges. Gain hands-on skills, small-class mentoring and a standout boost for uni or career applications.

This two-week residential summer school at Earlscliffe in Folkestone focuses on sustainable futures within science and technology. Students receive 20 hours of tuition per week in small classes (maximum 12) where lessons are enriched by collaborative project work, practical builds and prototype testing.

The programme emphasises hands-on activity, fieldwork and real-world problem-solving related to energy, climate and resource management.

Students will study core concepts in environmental science, engineering and applied technology, review sustainable projects from around the world, and apply these insights to their own team projects. The course includes structured modules on foundations of sustainability, innovation and applied technology, and global challenges, plus two full-day trips (including Central London), additional weekly excursions and an active social programme.

The price is fully boarding and includes accommodation, all meals and comprehensive travel insurance. On completion participants receive an end-of-course report and a Certificate of Achievement; a personalised reference letter can be requested.
