Make your first game in Scratch, build a website or design an app in a friendly, volunteer-led coding club. Beginners and experienced coders can learn from volunteers and peers, and laptops are available to borrow.
Selby CoderDojo is a free, volunteer-led, community-based coding club for young people. It offers a friendly, informal space where participants can explore digital making, learn to code, and build practical projects with support from volunteers and peers.
Young people can try out creative technology activities such as making their first game in Scratch, building a website, or designing an app. The session is open to beginners as well as those who already have some experience, and the club encourages self-led learning, peer learning and youth mentoring.
The event is in person and laptops are available to borrow if needed, although attendees are welcome to bring their own. Tickets must be booked in advance, and anyone under 13 must attend with a parent or guardian staying with them.
For more information, attendees can contact the organisers by email.
