Serve customers, sort donations and create shop displays as part of a friendly team supporting disabled people with complex needs. Get full training and ongoing support, with the chance to train on the till or help open, run and close the shop.
Join Sense’s Retford charity shop as a volunteer and become part of a friendly team supporting a disability charity that helps disabled people with complex needs. The role is a chance to meet new people, learn practical retail skills and contribute to a welcoming shop environment that raises funds for Sense’s work.
Volunteer tasks include serving and assisting customers, receiving donated items, sorting and preparing stock, creating attractive displays, keeping the shop floor clean and safe, and talking to customers about Sense. You may also have the chance to develop further by training as a till user or progressing into a Key volunteer role, which includes opening, running and closing the shop when needed.
Sense provides full training, ongoing support, a reference for future applications and access to Mental Health First Aiders if needed. It is a voluntary role with reimbursed expenses, designed for people who want to support a cause they care about while building confidence, experience and skills in a community setting.
