Welcome customers, sort donated stock and create shop displays while helping raise funds for disabled people with complex needs. You’ll get full training and ongoing support, with the chance to learn the till or take on opening and closing.
Sense is recruiting volunteers for its charity shop in Loughton. The role is part of Sense’s wider work supporting disabled people with complex needs, helping the charity raise funds and create more inclusive communities.
It is a good fit for anyone who enjoys meeting people, working as part of a team and making a practical difference through a customer-facing role.
Volunteers may help with a range of everyday shop duties, including welcoming customers, receiving donated items, sorting and preparing stock, creating attractive displays and keeping the shop clean, safe and tidy. Depending on your interests and training, you may also be able to learn how to use the till or progress into a key volunteer role with additional responsibilities such as supervising the shop, opening and closing, and cashing up.
Sense says volunteers receive full training, ongoing support and guidance, plus a reference to support future applications. The organisation also highlights the chance to build new skills, meet new people and contribute to a welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.
