Welcome customers, sort donations and build attractive displays in a Swindon charity shop, helping raise funds for a disability charity. With full training, you can progress to serving customers, discussing Gift Aid or helping open and close the shop.
Join Sense as a Shop Volunteer in Swindon and support a friendly retail team while helping raise funds for a disability charity. Volunteers help with a range of day-to-day tasks, including welcoming customers, receiving donations, sorting and preparing stock, creating attractive displays, keeping the shop tidy and talking to visitors about Sense’s work.
The role is designed to be flexible and supportive, with full training provided. If you want to develop further, you may be able to train as a till volunteer, taking on extra responsibilities such as serving customers, processing sales and discussing Gift Aid and fundraising initiatives.
There is also the option to progress towards becoming a Key Volunteer, which includes additional responsibilities such as helping supervise the shop, supporting the manager, opening and closing the shop, and cashing up at the end of the day. Volunteers receive ongoing guidance, a reference for future roles, support from Mental Health First Aiders if needed, and the chance to gain new skills while making a real difference.
