Welcome customers, sort donated stock and create attractive displays in a Huddersfield charity shop supporting disabled people with complex needs. Get full training and ongoing team support, with opportunities to progress to using the till or becoming a key volunteer.
Sense is recruiting volunteers for its charity shop in Huddersfield. This role is based in a friendly shop environment and supports a leading disability charity that works with disabled people with complex needs.
Volunteers help create a welcoming shopping experience while contributing to Sense’s wider mission of inclusion and connection.
Typical tasks include greeting and assisting customers, receiving donated items, sorting and preparing stock, creating attractive displays, and keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy. Volunteers may also chat to customers about Sense and the charity’s work, helping raise awareness of its cause.
Sense offers full training, ongoing support and guidance from the team. There are opportunities to build new skills, meet new people and, over time, progress into further responsibilities such as till use or a key volunteer role.
A reference is available to support future applications for paid or voluntary roles, and mental health first aider support is also offered.
