Welcome customers, sort donations and prepare stock at a Poole charity shop, helping disabled people with complex needs connect and feel included in their communities. Get full training and ongoing support, with reasonable volunteer expenses reimbursed.
Sense is looking for volunteers to support its charity shop in Poole. The role is part of Sense’s wider mission to help disabled people with complex needs connect with others and be included in their communities.
Volunteers join a friendly team of staff and other volunteers and play a practical part in the day-to-day running of the shop.
Typical tasks include welcoming customers, receiving and sorting donations, steaming and preparing stock, creating attractive displays, and helping keep the shop floor clean, safe and tidy. Volunteers may also speak to customers about Sense and the charity’s work, helping raise awareness and support for its cause.
There are opportunities to develop further in the role, including training to use the till and, for those who want extra responsibility, becoming a Key Volunteer. Sense offers full training, ongoing support, a reference for future applications, and reimbursement of reasonable volunteer expenses.
1 December 2026
Reasonable volunteer expenses reimbursed in line with Sense’s volunteer expenses policy.
