Help run interactive play sessions for disabled children and their families, alongside the Early Intervention Play Leader. Set up activities, join games, singing and crafts, and help children take part at their own pace.
Sense is looking for a volunteer to support its Early Intervention and Play Service in Barnet, helping to deliver interactive, fun play sessions for disabled children and their families. The role is based in Sense centre Barnet and involves working alongside the Early Intervention Play Leader to create a welcoming, energetic environment where children can join in at their own pace.
Typical tasks include setting up and tidying away play activities, joining games, singing, crafts and other interactive play, helping children engage with activities, and building positive connections with families. The role also asks volunteers to be mindful of risks during play and to bring creativity, warmth and flexibility to each session.
Sense provides full training and ongoing support, plus reasonable adjustments to help volunteers take part. Volunteers can also access support from the team, including mental health first aiders, and can claim reasonable expenses.
The role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with disabled children, is comfortable with a regular Friday commitment, and wants to develop skills while contributing to an inclusive service.
