Service Technician Mechanic Apprentice - NIRRO LTD

This is a Level 3 Service Technician Mechanic apprenticeship at NIRRO LTD based in Ongar. The role involves hands-on maintenance and repair of Volkswagen and Audi group vehicles, using diagnostic equipment to identify faults, testing parts and systems, and following recognised diagnostic and repair procedures.

Most training is on-the-job in a professional workshop alongside fully trained mechanics, supported by a dedicated mentor.

The apprenticeship includes off-the-job training delivered by Harlow College to achieve the Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (light vehicle) Level 3 apprenticeship standard. The programme covers health and safety, workshop tools, routine maintenance, engines, electrical systems, diagnostics and problem-solving techniques.

The start date is Tuesday 6 January 2026 and the programme duration is 3 years.

Working hours are Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30 with a Saturday early finish at 12:30, totalling 45 hours per week. Wage for the first year is £17,667 (then could increase depending on age) and the employer follows the National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
