Sheffield Hallam University offers an Open Day Travel Fund to help prospective undergraduate students cover travel costs for attending campus open days. The fund provides up to £30 following attendance: £15 for visitors from a Sheffield (S) postcode and £30 for visitors from outside Sheffield.
Payments are intended to reimburse travel and are subject to terms and conditions. Eligibility is limited to prospective students who attend specified applicant open day events (dates listed on the page) or the undergraduate open day on 4 July 2026.
Applicants must attend in person, check in on arrival, have a UK bank account in their own name, and are not current Sheffield Hallam students (offer holders are permitted). Payments cannot be made to accompanying friends or family, and only one payment is permitted per participant across the event series.
To claim the payment you will be emailed a link to a short form after attending the open day. The form requests your name, email address, home address, a form of photo ID and your UK bank account details.
Payments are made by secure electronic transfer; allow up to one week after submitting the form. Additional support towards travel may be available via the Hallam Progress scheme.

- You must be a prospective student who attended one of the listed applicant open day events (28 February, 21 March or 26 April) or the undergraduate open day on 4 July 2026.
- You must have attended the open day in person and checked in on arrival at Sheffield Hallam (no payment without a record of check-in).
- Payments can only be made to prospective students (not to friends or family members who attend with a prospective student).
- You must have a UK bank account in your name; payments cannot be made to international bank accounts.
- Current Sheffield Hallam students are not eligible (offer holders may apply).
- Only one payment can be received per participant across this event series.
£30 total
Up to £30 towards travel costs following attendance. Attendees with a Sheffield (S) postcode can receive £15; attendees with a non-Sheffield postcode can receive £30. One payment per event series; payments only to prospective students with a UK bank account. Payments are made by secure electronic transfer; allow up to one week after submitting the form.
