This online workshop explores the drive, lilt, and charm of single reels, focusing on the distinctive sound of these catchy, fast-paced tunes. Participants will look at a few examples and work through practical ideas for ornamentation, variations, and rhythmic touches that help single reels sound lively and engaging.

The session is geared towards fiddles, though any instrument interested in exploring the tunes is welcome. It is aimed at intermediate and advanced players and is taught by ear. Registered students also receive the class recording after the workshop, so the session can be revisited later or enjoyed asynchronously.
