Join a fully funded, multi-year STEM programme delivered with Imperial College London. Explore subjects through lectures, taster events and university preparation workshops, with around five non-residential sessions each academic year, usually on Saturdays or during school holidays.
Shrewsbury STEM Potential is a fully funded outreach programme for students from backgrounds under-represented in higher education who are interested in studying STEM at university. It is delivered by Shrewsbury School in partnership with Imperial College London and is designed to support students through a multi-year journey of academic enrichment, guidance and preparation for university study.
Participants attend around five events each academic year, usually on Saturdays and during school holiday periods. Sessions are non-residential and typically run from the morning into the early afternoon.
Activities include subject-focused sessions, university preparation workshops, taster events and lectures, giving students the chance to broaden their understanding of STEM subjects and life beyond school.
The programme is aimed at state-school students in the Shropshire area who meet the eligibility criteria and are in the right year group. Year 12 applicants must study Maths and at least one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and the scheme also prioritises students who face barriers to progression into higher education.
