This is a full-time, onshore Wind Turbine Service Technician apprenticeship based at Clyde Wind Farm near Biggar. The apprenticeship leads to a Level 3 qualification (Maintenance Operations & Engineering Technician, equivalent to an NVQ).
In year one your primary base will be the partner training provider in Scunthorpe for general electrical and mechanical practical and theory training; years two and three focus on hands-on experience with the service team at the recruited site. As a service technician apprentice you will learn to execute ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components, complete safety and quality documentation, and support customers both remotely and onsite.
Typical duties include predefined technical tasks, component integration, basic engineering and maintaining safety procedures while working at height and on shifts. The role is offered as a 42-month fixed-term employment contract.
The programme includes industry-standard safety training and assessments. A starting salary of £16,000 is offered, together with 26 days holiday and access to various salary sacrifice and employee benefits.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria (GCSEs, driving licence, local proximity and being 18+ by September 2026) and pass required assessments and checks.
