Spend four weeks in a paid banking placement, supporting day-to-day work, joining meetings and shadowing staff across teams such as IT, Legal, Finance or Sales & Trading. Build skills through workshops and training, then join a group project supporting a charity partner.
Societe Generale’s Young Influencers Programme is a paid four-week work experience opportunity for school leavers in Year 13. It offers students a chance to spend the summer in a professional banking environment, gaining first-hand experience of how a large international financial services firm operates and how different teams contribute to the wider business.
Participants are placed with one of a range of teams, which may include HR, Communications, IT, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit, Finance, Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, or Research. The programme focuses on practical learning through real work, with students supporting day-to-day tasks, contributing to projects, sitting in on meetings, shadowing staff, and completing e-learning modules.
There are also workshops, training, networking and development opportunities, plus a group project supporting a charity partner.
The scheme is designed to build practical, professional and interpersonal skills, while helping students understand the expectations of working life in a major bank. It is aimed at curious, motivated young people who want to explore careers in financial services and strengthen their CV for future opportunities.
