Join BBC Studios as a Software Engineering Degree Apprentice (Level 6) based at Television Centre in London. This fixed-term, full-time apprenticeship (40 months) combines on-the-job software engineering work with study toward an industry-recognised degree-level apprenticeship qualification.
Apprentices will work on services that reach millions of users, contributing to apps and platforms such as iPlayer, Sounds and Sport while learning software design, development, testing and operational support.
You will be supported by experienced engineers and learning providers, practising automated testing, quality control and troubleshooting as part of the development lifecycle. The scheme includes BBC-led training, apprenticeship development days, mentoring, and access to the BBC Academy.
The role is based at Television Centre, London (W12 7FA) and offers a starting salary of £22,950 plus a London weighting of £5,441, with standard BBC benefits and support for relocation subject to eligibility.
To be eligible you must meet the stated entry requirements (including being 18+ by September 2026 and having maths and English GCSEs at Grade 4/C or equivalent). The application process involves creating a candidate profile and answering questions (no CV or cover letter required); a coding test forms part of the assessment.
