Apply NowWant to become a qualified solicitor while earning? Join Trowers & Hamlins' six-year paid apprenticeship: study an LLB on the job, complete the SQE, rotate across departments and build legal skills, experience and contacts to launch your career.
Trowers & Hamlins' Solicitor Apprenticeship is a six-year paid programme based from their UK offices, including the London office at 3 Bunhill Row. Over the first four years you will complete an LLB Law degree while working at the firm; in the final year and a half you will complete the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) and undertake rotations aligned with trainee cohorts.
The programme offers hands-on experience across departments and structured on-the-job training.
Apprentices work Monday to Friday, typically 9:30am-5:30pm (40 hours per week). The apprenticeship is delivered with THE UNIVERSITY OF LAW LIMITED as the training provider: apprentices spend four days a week at the firm and one day a week completing their apprenticeship qualification.
The role starts on 1 September 2026, offers a salary of £26,000 per year and a benefits package (including five weeks’ annual leave, pension scheme, interest-free season ticket loan and access to private medical insurance).
Essential entry requirements include GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 6/B) and A Level qualifications (grades A, B, B as listed). The employer operates a Disability Confident approach and will offer a proportion of interviews to applicants with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
Successful completion leads to qualification as a newly qualified solicitor.
