Spend 1-5 days exploring clinical or non-clinical NHS departments and get an insight into healthcare careers, workplace culture and expectations. Placements are arranged in advance and typically run from 09:00 to 16:00.
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust offers work experience placements that give students and prospective applicants an insight into the wide range of careers available within the NHS. Placements are available across both clinical and non-clinical departments, and are designed to help you understand the culture, behaviours and expectations of working in healthcare.
The placements are arranged in advance with departments and usually last between 1 and 5 days. Typical hours are 09:00 to 16:00, and placements cannot be offered at weekends or on Bank Holidays. All placements are unpaid, and the Trust asks applicants to complete the online application form for their chosen placement area.
Alongside in-person placements, SWFT also shares online careers workshops throughout the year and links to Springpod online work-related learning for students aged from 13 years living in the South East of England. Together, these options offer a useful starting point for exploring NHS careers and preparing for future study, university applications or employment.
All work experience placements are unpaid.
