The Classical Association's Southport & Birkdale branch invites members of the public and students to a lecture by Dr Conor Trainor (Assistant Professor of Classics, University College Dublin) on 'The Impact of the Romans on the City of Knossos'. The event takes place at King George V Sixth Form College (KGV College), Southport, on Wednesday 4 February 2026.
Doors open at 18:15 for a 19:00 start; the session is scheduled to finish by 20:00.
Attendees are welcome to join beforehand for refreshments and to browse the branch's second-hand book stall; a raffle will also be held. The lecture is suitable for sixth-form students (Years 12-13) as well as members of the general public with an interest in classics, archaeology and ancient history.
