Fancy making a real difference by the Mediterranean? Join an 8‑day Rustic Pathways trip in Barcelona—clean beaches, marine conservation service, tapas, cooking, flamenco and mosaic workshops. Build teamwork and environmental experience, connect with peers and boost your CV.
Spain: Tapas, Service & Sea is an 8-day teen travel and service program run by Rustic Pathways based in and around Barcelona for high-school students aged 14-18. Participants complete approximately 8 hours of community service focused on marine conservation and ocean cleanup, while also taking part in cultural and food-focused activities such as tapas meals, market visits, a cooking class, flamenco dance workshops, and mosaic-making.
The program balances meaningful local service with cultural immersion and seaside activities including beach afternoons and a possible boat trip along the Mediterranean coast. The program fee covers accommodations (private countryside basehouse ~40 minutes outside Barcelona), ground transportation, most meals, scheduled activities, airport transfers for group arrival/departure windows, program leaders and 24/7 in-country support, and emergency coverage.
International airfare, personal spending, souvenirs, and optional travel protection are not included. Sessions run each summer; see the provider's site for current dates.
