This Level 4 PE & Sports Coach apprenticeship at Heath Mount Primary School (part of Excelsior Multi Academy Trust) offers on-the-job coaching experience supporting PE lessons, extra-curricular clubs, lunchtime activities and school sports competitions. You will work alongside lead coaches, teachers and support staff to deliver inclusive, fun physical-activity sessions that promote fitness, wellbeing and social development.
As an apprentice you will study a blended training programme delivered by Aspire Training Solutions (UK) Limited, leading to a Level 4 Sports Coach qualification. The apprenticeship includes sector-specific CPD (e.
g. , multi-skills coaching, behaviour management, outdoor activities, gymnastics, safeguarding and mental health), and may include functional skills in maths and English where required.
The role is term-time only (35 hours per week, shifts to be confirmed), starts on 5 January 2026, and lasts approximately 1 year 8 months. Essential entry requirements include GCSEs in Maths and English (grade 4).

£13,741 per year
£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. Please note this role is Term Time Only and pay will be pro-rata. Annual salary equates to £12,047. National minimum wage from 12 months onwards.
