Join Rochdale Association Football Club as a Sports Turf Grounds Person apprentice and train while you work to maintain and renovate sports surfaces at the Crown Oil Arena. You will be part of the grounds team carrying out tasks such as mowing, scarifying, aeration, overseeding, turf repair, line marking and basic servicing of drainage and irrigation systems.
The role emphasises safe, effective use of a range of turf machinery and tools, and contributing to high pitch quality for training and matches.
This apprenticeship includes off-the-job training with The Oldham College to achieve the Sports Turf Operative Level 2 qualification. You will receive regular tutor/assessor visits and online tutorials.
The position is full-time (35 hours per week) with shift patterns across Monday to Sunday. The apprenticeship runs for approximately two years and offers on-the-job learning combined with formal training elements.
Desirable qualifications include GCSEs in English and maths (grade 3-9/A*-D). Applicants should be physically fit and flexible with hours; a driving licence is desirable. The start date is listed as 28 November 2025 and applications must be submitted via the National Apprenticeship Website.

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. The salary will depend on any prior experience and if you have a full current driving license.
