STEM Pioneers is a two-week, on-campus summer course in Oxford run by Sapphire Education for curious 12-14 year olds. The programme offers hands-on STEM challenges and age-appropriate projects that introduce foundational concepts in engineering, environmental innovation, physics and basic coding.
Students work through design-thinking activities, robotics and practical tasks to develop problem-solving, teamwork and creative confidence. Beyond classroom sessions, the course includes masterclasses, guest speakers, cultural excursions and structured social and wellbeing time.
Participants stay in premium en-suite university accommodation with all meals provided, and the programme includes weekend excursions and a visit to a private school. Pastoral staff live on-site to provide 24/7 support.
At the end of the course students take part in a graduation where they receive a completion certificate. The programme emphasises experiential learning to inspire future academic and career interests in STEM.
