Apply NowFancy tackling real scientific research this summer? Join a two-week STEM Research Placement at Oxford Museum of Natural History to work with Earth and Life specimens, build university-style lab skills, connect with museum experts and boost your uni/career prospects.
The Oxford University Museum of Natural History runs STEM Research Placements during the summer holiday for secondary students in Years 12 and 13. Each two-week placement is designed by a museum expert and uses specimens from the Earth and Life collections to give students hands-on experience of real-world scientific research and university-style learning beyond A-level study.
Six places are available each summer. Three places are allocated through Destination STEM and reserved for students from low-income backgrounds, those with care experience, or those who would be the first in their family to apply to Higher Education.
The remaining three places are open to application and allow students to highlight other barriers they may face in accessing enrichment opportunities. Participants are supported to present their work to peers and supervisors and are encouraged to submit projects for the British Science Association Gold CREST Award.
All participants receive a bursary to help cover travel and subsistence. For more information or to apply, contact education@oum. ox.
