Stephenson Harwood offers scholarships to support students who plan to study law at a UK university. The programme will provide up to five students with A315,000 per year for each year of a three-year undergraduate law degree to help cover university fees and contribute to living expenses.
Scholarship recipients will also be paired with a mentor from the firm, invited to insight days and employment workshops, provided with work experience and guaranteed a place at an assessment centre for a training contract.
The scholarship is designed to address practical and social barriers to entering the legal profession. Applicants must be able to demonstrate academic potential, must have attended a state-funded, non-fee-paying school or college from age 11, and must meet at least one of the listed widening-access criteria (for example, prior receipt of free school meals, being first in family to attend university, having been in local authority care, being a young carer, or having arrived in the UK as a refugee/asylum seeker).
Applicants should be attending a state school or college with below-average A-Level/Higher point scores or low progression rates to higher education.
Applications for the scholarships open on 6 October 2025 and close at 10:00 on 30 January 2026. Prospective applicants should apply via the firms online application portal (link on the scholarships page) and can contact future.talent@stephensonharwood.com with questions.
