Spend a week getting a first-hand look at local-government careers and how council work supports the environment and community. You’ll also explore the skills, attitudes and behaviours valued in public service roles.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council offers one-week unpaid work experience placements for young people and students whose studies are linked to school, college or university. The placements are designed to give participants a first-hand look at the wide range of career choices available in local government, while also showing what it is like to work with the Council.
During the placement, participants can learn more about the work the Council carries out in support of the local environment and community. The experience is intended to help develop understanding of workplace expectations, including the skills, attitudes and behaviours valued in public service roles.
Applications are welcomed for the 2026/27 academic year, with places limited according to staff availability. The Council also accepts applications from candidates aged 18 and over. To apply, applicants should complete the Work Experience Application Form and email it to the Council’s HR team.
