Study Mind's Biology Work Experience gives A-level students practical, hands-on exposure to laboratory and fieldwork across core biological topics.

Participants take part in lab techniques (microscopy, genetics), experimental design, environmental sampling and ecosystem studies, and attend a full-day trip to Kew Gardens. The programme also includes sessions on UCAS/personal statement support and careers guidance to help strengthen university applications.

Options include 1-, 2- and 3-week packages, small class sizes (10-12 students), and an optional residential stay at Ramsay Hall (UCL) for those choosing the residential programme. On completion students receive a certificate suitable for UCAS and CV use.

A bursary scheme offers full and partial discounts for eligible students (application required).

  • No prior biology experience required.
  • International students welcome but must have a good standard of English.
  • Bursary applicants must provide proof of receipt of Universal Credit, Free School Meals or Pupil Premium, complete an essay task, and provide a teacher reference.

Residential accommodation is offered for students who opt into the residential programme (Ramsay Hall, UCL) - cost for residential option not specified.
