Fancy turning your ideas into stories that stand out? Join Study Mind’s Creative Writing Work Experience in central London: explore non-fiction, scripts and publishing, build a personal project, get tutor feedback and boost your writing skills for uni or career.

Deadline in 211 days

Study Mind's Creative Writing Work Experience is an immersive, small-group programme in central London for 15- to 18-year-olds. Through practical workshops and expert-led sessions you will explore non-fiction, scriptwriting, publishing and the writer's life, develop personal writing projects, receive tutor feedback, and learn techniques for narrative structure, character development and dialogue.

Courses run as 1-, 2- or 3-week options (1 week core; 2 weeks adds Career & Life Skills; 3 weeks is a full immersive programme). Groups are kept small (10-12 students) to maximise workshop feedback. Residential participants stay at Ramsay Hall (UCL) in single occupancy rooms; day and excursion activities take place around central London and with partner organisations for industry placement days.

All participants receive a certificate on completion to support UCAS/personal statement applications. A bursary scheme (full, 75%, 50%) is available for disadvantaged students; bursary applicants must provide evidence of eligibility, complete an essay task and supply a teacher reference.
