Want top independent schooling without the full fees? Apply for Surbiton High’s Church School Foundation Bursaries - means-tested awards for Senior School or Sixth Form, competitive on academic potential. Gain access to excellent teaching and boost your uni/career prospects.

Surbiton High School offers a limited number of means-tested Church School Foundation Bursaries to help low-income families with the cost of independent education. Bursaries can be awarded for entry into the Senior School or Sixth Form only.

Awards are competitive and based on academic potential demonstrated via the entry process together with a financial assessment. Bursary values are reviewed annually and the school states it is not normally able to offer 100% fee coverage; parents are expected to contribute to fees.

To apply, indicate on the school admissions form that you wish to apply for a bursary. The Admissions team will invite successful applicants to the online Bursary Management Portal to submit an initial application.

After school approval of the initial application, families will be asked to provide evidence of income. Completed applications are sent to Bursary Administration Limited (BAL) for an independent financial assessment and recommendation.

The school will communicate a final outcome based on BAL’s assessment and the results of the entrance examination and interview.

Eligibility guidance (not absolute) states that families with household incomes under £100,000 and assets up to £150,000 (excluding the family home) are likely to be considered. An exception applies where the family home is valued at £750,000 or more, in which case the excess value is counted.

Financial information should include both parents and any stepparents/partners. Personal and financial data are administered via third-party software (ITQ Metis) and transferred securely to BAL for assessment.
