Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Woodland Day is a free autumn taster for young people aged 16-19 who want to spend time outdoors and experience hands-on woodland activity. It is designed as an introduction to nature-based learning and green career pathways, with a focus on practical experiences in a natural woodland setting.
Participants will take part in activities such as cooking around a campfire, practical woodland conservation, green woodworking, and making woodland crafts. The day also includes time to relax, get creative, and learn more about local nature and wildlife, while discovering other opportunities available through Sussex Wildlife Trust.
The taster is intended to help shape an upcoming woodland and coastal course, so young people can share their experiences and contribute ideas. It is an in-person event with transport support available if needed, and lunch/food provided on the day.
