Clear scrub, plant trees and wild flowers, and maintain paths at a nature reserve through monthly hands-on conservation sessions. No experience is needed, and tools, tea and coffee are provided.
Deneway Hit Squad is a monthly volunteer group run by Sussex Wildlife Trust to help improve Deneway Nature Reserve for nature. Volunteers take part in practical conservation work that supports habitat improvement as part of Deneway’s Wild Future project.
Typical tasks include scrub clearance, tree planting, wild flower planting and path maintenance. The role is suitable for people with no prior experience, and the group is ideally aimed at those who live fairly locally.
Sessions take place once a month on a Wednesday, with a two-hour volunteering window.
This is a hands-on opportunity to support a local green space and contribute directly to wildlife-friendly conservation work. Volunteers are provided with all tools, and tea and coffee are also supplied.
Applications are made through the online form, and if needed applicants can email the volunteering team and ask to be considered for the Deneway Hit Squad role.
Monthly sessions on Wednesdays, 10:30-12:30
All tools, tea and coffee provided.
Free to join; all tools and tea/coffee are provided.
