Apply NowReady to shape sustainable food systems? Join LEAF’s Sustainable You(th) Challenge to build climate-positive projects, gain practical skills, connect with industry and academics at Harper Adams, and boost your uni and career prospects.
The Sustainable You(th) Challenge is a national competition run by LEAF to develop and amplify young people’s ideas for sustainable food systems, climate-positive solutions and biodiversity-friendly farming. The programme combines challenge-based learning, industry engagement and practical experience to deepen participants’ understanding of the science, technology and policy shaping sustainable food production.
Selected applicants will take part in a Challenge Day at Harper Adams University, a hands-on residential weekend for finalists, and engagement with Open Farm Sunday. Activities include practical, research and team-based tasks, opportunities to meet industry leaders, and exposure to university courses and career pathways in sustainability and agri-food.
The programme offers bursaries to support travel to events, a free shuttle from Stafford and Telford stations, mentoring opportunities and other prizes such as bursaries for further study and support with university applications. The challenge is aimed at motivated students who want to explore nature-based solutions and build skills relevant to green careers.
